Summer Sea School 2016

Every summer for the last three years the YES! Language School and the l’Escala Sailing Club have organised the Summer Sea School, which combines having fun learning English with water sports. This year’s camp proposition was to travel around the world and visit different regions and cultures throughout the summer. So far we have been to China, Greece, Rome and Egypt, we’ve seen the Maya, Aztec and Inca civilizations as well as Australia and New Zealand. This week we are visiting India and we will finish our tour in America.

This year’s idea is turning out to be a great success and many boys and girls have accompanied us on this journey full of adventure and fun. Our young travellers have had a great time discovering corners of the world that they didn’t know about. We’ve learned new facts about the Great Wall of China, discovered the Greek and Roman gods and the Greco Roman ruins of Empuries, explored the Egyptian pyramids, followed the three great civilizations of America and learned about Australian fauna, among many other things which we have treasured and are storing in our luggage! With passports full of adventures and memories of each place we have visited, we are ready to continue this journey and discover what the last two weeks of the camp has prepared for us!

The Summer Sea School is a project that every year delivers an unusual proposal quite unlike any other English summer camp. The combination of games and leisure activities, crafts, and water sports such as paddle surf, kayaking or snorkelling encourage the children to learn more every day, incorporating new vocabulary and English structures in a fun and natural way. What are you waiting for!!! Come and join us on this journey! With our English teachers you’ll experience a linguistic immersion that you will certainly want to repeat next year!
